Designing a prefect(?) photographic camera

No camera is made perfect. Everyone wants different things from a camera. From small size to bigger sensor, wishes are endless. I accept used over a dozen cameras over the years since I got interested in photography and lately video making. All I wish was more and more features in my cameras for lesser toll. I approximate this is what most people wants. Not talking about Leica owners :)

These are the main wish listing for most of usa I believe (enthusiast photographers)-

Smaller form factor, Corking epitome quality, Professional video features, RAW shooting, Ease of use, cheaper price (~$1200)

Lately I am very impressed with my Google Pixel photographic camera phone. The motion picture quality for that sensor size is just amazing. Yep, I know it's the prototype processing algorithms which are playing a crucial role here autonomously from camera sensor itself but in the finish, nosotros don't care if it's processor or software or whatever. If a camera outputs a superb image quality, photographer'due south will love it.

I oasis't used my Panasonic cameras for coincidental shoot since I got this phone. It's portable and fits into pocket. Even for video, this affair is amazing. Shoots 4K video and I don't have to buy expensive SD cards (I have 128 gb version). Even I can edit the 4K video in phone itself. My windows laptop with 8 gb ram does not handle 4K editing that good.

Hence, as a design enthusiast and camera lover, I came up with some basic design for what a hereafter camera would look similar. Named information technology Google Pixel A :)

We are entering into a time where CPU power is cheap and machine learning is taking it'southward identify in everyday objects.

I was amazed at a post on Petapixel which describes how motorcar learning can be used to remove racket in low low-cal images. Having seen all of these new tech, I believe we volition presently won't need fast lens or bigger sensor for low calorie-free photography.

Grip is a must for any camera. that capsule thing is flash :)

Having seen what Google tin do with ane camera and corking software, having 5–six modest cameras units with different focal lengths (macro also) will eliminate need to bear large lenses.

Dorsum side with mics on tiptop plate. It'south uncomplicated. All the menu's should exist in software (android?).

The camera should exist able to shoot video in HDR and LOG profile. Since this is mainly software expanse and CPU power is no problem, it should handle these tasks hands. Not to mention nosotros demand 4K 120p besides. Too much? :)

This is withal very bones design and far from a working perfect camera. Many more parts needs to be done here simply this should be able to give an idea of camera look n experience. I go out designing user interface for some other day.
